The Crossroads Chat

      The first "Cowboy Poetry Gatherings" were nothing more than parties thrown by a ranch. If you heard about it you came, no invitation needed. This is part of what makes the Texas Crossroads Gathering it's unique atmosphere for performers and fans alike.

      Crossroads provides a special connection between the audience and entertainers. This was highlighted in 2010 when a couple passing through town began talking to the entertainers at our mixer and wound up joining in a spontaneous jam session (And are planning on coming back on purpose in 2011!) We also had performers give impromteau guitar lessons and even go so far as playing back up for local kids during the open mic sessions.

     For performers who are not known nationally, or who are just starting out, Crossroads gives you a venue where you can be on the main stage, in front of thousands of people world wide through our live-stream video uploads during the event, our you-tube channel after the event and our participating events inviting Crossroads acts as featured entertainers to their next show! All you have to do is go to our entertainer page and be in the first forty-two to sign up. Even if you are not in the first forty-two to sign up, you are still welcome to come to Van Horn and take part in our jam sessions and be able to sell your cd's, books, or dvd's.
